I’ve definitely been making the most of the Olympics this month. I figured if you can’t beat ‘em, Join ‘Em! If you live downtown you won’t be able to get any sleep anyways so you might as well be out taking in some events, free shows, or just enjoying the best people-watching Vancouver has ever had to offer!
Were you taller than Quatchi in your Over The Knee Boots? Maybe you met Michael Buble while wearing one of our party dresses? Maybe you tore up your Fresh Out jeans while trying to jump a fence into Live City?
Send us your funny/unbelieveable/sexy/goofy/embarrassing PHOTOS of you wearing something from our collections and a quick description of what is happening in the photo.
Contest winners will receive a PRIVATE SHOPPING PARTY to preview our NEW SPRING COLLECTION before anyone else!
Please send photos and your stories to janine@freshout.ca.
**Contest will close on March 8th. Winners will be notified through email and Winning photos and stories will be published on our blog.**
The trees are budding, the daffodils are blooming, its time to get organized and start Spring Cleaning Your Wardrobe!
Keep essentials that will transition into spring like light knits, tall boots, cardigans, light scarves, trenches, and so on. As for the rest of the dark and heavy winter gear, its time to pack that up and put it away until next fall.
Now herein lies your problem: your closet bar is sagging, your drawers are crammed so full you can barely open and close them, and you can’t find anything you are looking for. How can you possibly make room for all those new cute Spring items??
Maple Leaf Storage has 10 locations in the Greater Vancouver Area with state-of-the-art security, onsite managers, climate controlled units, moving carts, boxes, and they’re open 365 days a year!
Just email janine@freshout.ca to receive your $25 storage discount at any of their locations.

The first official day of Spring is March 20! That may seem far away, but its not stopping me from dreaming about shedding all these constricting layers and slipping into the newest Spring Trends!
Here is an update on what to expect so you can start planning your new Spring Wardrobe NOW!
Influences on Overall Looks:
TRIBAL – think bold graphic prints, warrior elements, simple shapes or interesting draping, matte metallics, wood, beads and feathers. DIY and grab some leather string, feathers, beads and a hot glue gun to update a pair of strappy heels or tie on some embellishment to an old handbag.
GLOBAL – Thai, Japanese and Indian prints emerge.
MINIMALISTIC/UTILITARIAN – Neutrals, clean lines, linens, silks, khaki, and canvas.
SPORT – buckles, zips, stretch fabrics, exposed seams, cuffed pants, boat shoes, can go either way: city slick or on the playing field, as pictured here:
40’s FEMININE – lingerie, lace, soft pinks, lilacs, and nudes, ruffles, bows, and furs.
Fabric Trends:
LACE & CHIFFON – floaty dresses, lingerie influence pieces, sheer
LEATHER – moving away from exotics and harsh black into rich browns and tans. On everything from shirts, shorts, pants, jackets, and accessories.
Jacket Trends:
TRENCH – a winter to spring transitional favorite!
UTILITARIAN - natural colours, lots of pockets
SHOES: Oxfords, Wedges, Peep Toe Boots with fringe, color blocking, floral prints, or straw details.
ACCESSORIES: Silver, Transparent Plastics, Fringe Bags, Pastels and Florals, Waist Cinching Belts
